Youth are the future and it’s our responsibility to empower them. This is what Diepsloot Youth Project is trying to do. The youth project of Diepsloot is currently running its third phase, by which around 20000 youth have been empowered so far. The youth project works on various projects such as entrepreneurship development, skill acquisition, etc., aimed at developing a skilled workforce for the growing economy of South Africa.
DYP offers an opportunity to harness the untapped potential of today’s youth and help them develop into tomorrow’s leaders. From empowering them with skills that will equip them for a successful career, to teaching them how to be responsible citizens in their community, DYP is doing just that!

A group of young men and women have come together to form a company that will change the lives of many by providing them with decent jobs. They are helping youth find their ways out of crime and violence and also providing them with an opportunity to become entrepreneurs. The project aims to solve the unemployment problem not only in their locality but also across the country. The organization is actively involved in various pro-active initiatives such as building schools, providing scholarships, health camps, etc.

All of us have seen the beggars and homeless people on the streets. We rarely pay attention to them because we think that they don’t have a proper place to live or stay. But, Diepsloot Youth Project is trying to change the conventional perception about homeless people.
DY Project believes in providing shelter, employment, education and healthcare to these outcaste people. The Youth Project is also trying to raise their social awareness by teaching them about keeping cleanliness and hygiene, etc.
Who remembers traveling with their friends in a group? Or packing your bag with all the essentials, making sure you don’t forget anything important? How about taking a shower after a long day of exploring and indulging in new adventures? These are just some of the things we do while growing up, and they are also some of the things that Diepsloot Youth Project is working on.
DYP engages kids aged 8-14 years old in activities to promote healthy living by engaging them in sports, arts, and other enriching activities that help them build talents and skills. The youth project has provided them with the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Youth Project Diepsloot wants to change this perception and introduce the world to a new definition of childhood. Online bullying can be a silent killer, but Diepsloot Youth Project is here to fight back! In partnership with Mozilla, DYP‘s aim is to provide children with the necessary tools and resources they need to navigate the digital world safely. Diepsloft Youth Project has also partnered with various companies in the US to spread awareness of online safety and explore ways in which it can be incorporated into schools. When I got home from school one day, my mother told me about a girl being beaten up by a group of boys. Her face was swollen and bruised, her clothes torn and soaked in blood. She was screaming for help, but no one came to her rescue. I couldn’t believe what was happening in our neighborhood! And then I felt sick to my stomach knowing that it could happen to any girl on the street – regardless if they’re rich or poor, beautiful or plain. That is why we formed the Diepsloot Youth Project: to raise awareness about gender-based violence and empower young girls to be strong and brave like their male counterparts.Our team includes volunteers from all backgrounds who understand the importance of supporting our girls so that they can reach their fullest potential in life! School shoes are integral to a child’s daily uniform, but in the slums of South Africa, they’re more than just a necessity. For 19 disadvantaged children, school is not just a place where they learn and play; it’s also home. That’s why we decided to donate school shoes to Diepsloot Youth Project so that they can attend classes without worrying about their footwear. Hats off to your brand!In schools across South Africa, students are expected to attend classes in a well-maintained shoe. Shoes are a must for any child since it protects their feet from getting injured during the class time. Many school shoes donated by brands or organizations come with various fancy designs and colours that attract children. These school shoes can help them grow strong and confident as they walk through life with their head held high. But when we hear about children who don’t have the same luxury of attending schools with such shoes (especially when they don’t even have proper footwear), we get inspired to do something about it. That’s why Diepsloot Youth Project is so special! They work towards providing disadvantaged children living in Diepsloot area with educational footwear so that they can continue their studies unhindered. That’s why we are donating to Diepsloot Youth Project today. We will stand in solidarity with these brave girls who have been taught to be strong and unbreakable. We need to talk about gender-based violence. It exists everywhere, but sadly, it’s not talked about as much as it should be. That’s why we’ve decided to raise awareness in the simplest way possible – by collecting donations and funding for a worthy cause. This time around, we’re supporting 30 young women who are victims of gender-based violence. They don’t have anyone else they can turn to when things get tough and they need help!

30 young women are at risk of sexual and gender based violence in Diepsloot. These girls are victims of triple oppression – they are poor, female and from an ethnic or religious minority group. Their lives have been shattered by brutal acts committed against them every day.
