Many youth in the neighbourhood have grown up through tough times, but Diepsloot Youth Project is striving to change that. For the past 7 years, almost 300 young people have come under this programme for their holistic development. They are made to take part in different activities including art, dance and music classes. These classes help them in breaking barriers and strengthening their self-esteem.

In addition, they are also provided with vocational skills that will help them find a job after they finish school or college. The Youth Mentorship Programme has made a huge difference in the lives of these youth and will continue to do so till they reach their goals and aspirations!

Do you think it’s great to only know about the things that you see in movies?

We think so, too. That’s why us youth are taking a leaf out of the seasoned ones’ book and imitating them. We want to help our community blossom and flourish, and so we started a project called Diepsloot Youth Mentorship Programme. The idea is simple: we teach young people valuable skills that will enable them to contribute to their community’s development and growth. We also aim to develop their leadership skills so that they become leaders in their own right.

From carpentry to food preparation, from gardening to social entrepreneurship, we have got something for everyone! There is no age limit for these programmes, as everyone is welcome. Let’s see who can make DYMP famous across the globe!

The youth of South Africa are facing a multitude of issues ranging from unemployment, drug abuse, and crime. In order to offer a solution, Diepsloot Youth Project has set up a mentorship programme for its young participants.

Youth in the project attend three-hour long workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, mindfulness, and career development. The purpose is to help them acquire life skills that will enable them to navigate complex situations and thrive in modern society.

This initiative is helping the youth of Diepsloot grow into engaged adults who are committed to making a positive impact on their community.

Youth don’t have to feel like they’re stuck in a rut when it comes to finding work or being part of society. Diepsloot Youth Project is here to bridge the gap and help them out. The programme is meant for youth between the ages of 18 and 30 years, who are looking for ways to better themselves and find success in life. Through proper guidance, coaching, and mentorship from experienced professionals, these individuals are empowered with the skills they need to get ahead in life. They learn about entrepreneurship, marketing, soft skills like communication and negotiation, and even leadership. All this helps them land a job that suits their skill set perfectly!

Youth are the future and we should be investing in them. To that end, Diepsloot is running a youth mentorship programme wherein young people can join hands with an elderly person to learn, gain knowledge and share their experiences. The idea behind this programme is pretty straightforward – it aims to provide elderly with a platform to share experience and impart wisdom to a new generation of young people.

Diepsloot Youth Project is run by a group of volunteers who have the desire and passion to change lives in remote areas through education.
