We’re the youth development project based out of Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. We help young people build their lives, their futures, and communities around them. We do this by providing education, job training, and entrepreneurship skills; by helping them access health care and other social services; by offering mentoring and counseling programs; and by advocating for their rights and getting them involved in politics.

Youth unemployment is a global issue that has been steadily increasing over the years. In South Africa alone, youth unemployment stands at 28%. With our Youth Project, we are striving to change this sad statistic.

Dye sloot Youth Programme is a non-profit organization that works towards providing young unemployed people with work and education. Our aim is to empower these individuals so that they can stand on their own feet and contribute to their households and the society in general. We believe that by giving these youths an opportunity to learn new skills and grow professionally, we can help them find employment in the future. We have also developed several programs such as leadership development, financial literacy, and more so that they can take control of their lives and be more productive members of society.

Youth Services is a necessity in the lives of every individual, who wishes to grow and thrive in this world. Youth Project’s Diepsloot Youth Programme is no exception. Recognizing the need for better services and programs, they have come up with ways to help youth realize their potential.

The motto of the program is clear and concise: shaping youth for change and hope. Through skill development programs, running workshops on various topics, mentoring sessions, job creation programs, and much more, the Youth Project aims to set young minds on fire with passion, optimism and purpose.

Youth unemployment is a worldwide problem, but in South Africa, it’s no secret that a large percentage of those between the ages of 18 and 24 are out of work. With more than 25% youth unemployment in Diepsloot alone, we knew we had to do something to help these young men and women get back on track.

Our Youth Project was created with that very goal in mind: to provide an opportunity for young people to develop their skills and find employment. The project runs two programs simultaneously, offering both young men and women the flexibility they need in order to succeed. Participants can choose between three different modules—including soft skills training like problem-solving and time management—that will help prepare them for whatever career path they choose. And because all classes are taught by professionals, participants have access to real-world tips and tricks that will help them land a job once they’ve completed the program.
