Children and adolescents are our future, so we must ensure that they have an enriching after-school programme. This is why Diepsloot Youth Project has launched the Afternoon Care Programme.

The aim of this programme is to keep kids engaged in a variety of activities for two hours every day. They will attend classes on nutrition, hygiene, safety, and many other topics that help them develop skills that will serve them well as adults. The classes are taught by volunteers who have experience working with children, and the kids love going because it’s fun! They learn new things every day, and their parents can be sure that they’re getting the best care possible.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can make a difference in the lives of these awesome kids, please get in touch! We look forward to hearing from you!

Sometimes, our little ones just need a little time to themselves. That’s why we’ve launched Diepsloot Youth Project – a drop-in programme that offers after-school care for kids aged 5-12.

Kids are welcome to attend Diepsloot Youth Project’s afternoon care programme from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Kids will enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, and storytelling, while parents can relax knowing their children are being well looked after.

DYP is organised by volunteers who are committed to providing quality care for the children of Diepsloot. If you’re interested in setting up a local DYP branch, please get in touch with us on Facebook or via email!

Kids are the future, and it is our duty to ensure that they shine like the stars. We do this through inspiring them, teaching them new things and helping them grow.

The Diepsloot Youth Project was started with an aim to take care of kids who are out of school in the afternoon, provide them with health and nutrition education and help them build a better future for themselves. The program is led by qualified teachers and volunteers who work closely with kids to build their confidence, as well as teaching them important skills like problem-solving, decision-making, organization, etc.”

Children are like sponges that absorb everything around them. They learn by watching, imitating and repeating. The more they get exposed to something, the more it becomes a part of their life. This explains why 80% of the children who participate in after-school care programmes participate in community service programmes as well. Youth Project Diepsloot is all about enriching young lives through meaningful activities, and we are excited to have you join us!

Diepsloot Youth Project Afternoon Care Programme is an opportunity for you to volunteer your time and share your valuable skills with little ones who live on the streets of Johannesburg. Through fun-filled activities, you will play with them, teach them new words and even prepare some healthy snacks for them. You will also have a chance to interact with them in a way that teaches good habits and makes you bond with each other. All this while making the world a better place!
