We often hear that Arts and Culture help in making cities more livable, more inviting and contribute to the quality of life. We agree! And so do the people of Diepsloot, who recently decided to take the initiative of initiating a youth arts and culture programme. This programme will help youths explore their creative side and contribute to making their neighbourhood a better place to live in.

DYPRO is an initiative by Diepsloot Youth Project, an outreach organisation working for the enrichment of all sections of society through development programmes. DYPRO is a platform where youth from diverse backgrounds can express themselves creatively, build self-esteem and learn valuable skills that will take them far in life.

Who says that only adults can enjoy arts and culture? Not in our neighbourhood! This month, we’re hosting an event for the youth of Diepsloot.

Be it poetry, dance, theatre or music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this exciting event. Settle in comfortably and let the fun begin!

When you think of arts and culture, what comes to mind? Music, painting, or some other form of expression? Have you ever thought about a way to merge these two together?

Diepsloot Youth Project is here to change that! For the past few years, DYP has been hosting events where people can come and experience different forms of art. But what makes DYP unique is that it does so in a youth-friendly environment. This way, people who may not have an interest in art can still get their fill.

On Saturday 21st June 2017, join us for an afternoon of music and arts! We will be holding a variety of workshops where participants can learn new skills or develop existing ones. Some of the classes we will be running include calligraphy, drawing, and more! By the end of the day, everyone should leave feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy life to the fullest.

Arts and culture is a great way to explore new things and enrich your life. It gives you a new perspective on life, while also providing you with a sense of belonging and direction. Diepsloot Youth Project has been providing this to the youth of South Africa for many years now. Through its Arts and Culture programme, the youth can explore their creativity by learning new skills, attending workshops, or participating in group activities.

With DYP Arts and Culture, you can enjoy all that arts and culture has to offer!

Youth always have a hidden desire to do something different and unique. They always want something that is out of the box and presents itself in a unique way. With the Diepsloot Youth Project Arts and Culture Programme, youth can explore their creative side without boundaries!

They can express themselves freely and creatively in a world where art is celebrated and understood. The die-young project gives them a platform where every child can feel represented, no matter their race or culture. We provide creative workshops, classes, events, etc. to take the youth forward with confidence and direction in life.
