What do you do when your neighbourhood is engaging in illegal activities? You take it upon yourself to found a project that aims at changing the stand of said neighbourhood.

In Diepsloot, there have been numerous incidents of drug trafficking, robbery and other crimes being committed by youth from the neighbourhood. Capitec Bank decided to team up with Diepsloot Youth Project and offer them support in order to curb such acts and make the area a better place to live in.

Youth unemployment is a huge problem in South Africa. Capitec believes that teenagers and young adults should be given the skills and opportunities to realize their full potential. Through its youth program, Capitec aims to empower young people and gives them the confidence they need to succeed. With flexible classes that suit their busy lives, Capitec helps them develop the skills they need to find a job or start their own business. And with a generous donation from Capitec, the Diepsloot Youth Project has given more than 500 young people their first chance at success. Through its programs and services, Capitec helps young South Africans realize their dreams – and turns them into true prosperity heroes.
