Out of the blue, we received an invitation from Diepsloot Youth Project to attend their annual choir festival. What caught our eye was its theme – ‘Celebrate Diversity’. The opportunity to be a part of such an event and learn more about the likes of us is something we couldn’t ignore. So, we decided to drop by and experience this for ourselves.
We heard wonderful voices and delightful tunes being performed by youth from various backgrounds. It was a privilege to see the kids so excited about singing and learning new things. TheDiepsloot Youth Project Choir Festival is a great initiative which creates a platform for fostering creativity and understanding among all age groups. We hope they host many such events in coming years!
The youth of Diepsloot have a voice and they want to be heard. They are on a quest to show the world that they are just as talented as any other artist out there and they want to change perception about them. So, this choir festival is all about taking control over your voice and showing everyone who you truly are!
