Diepsloot is a community in South Africa that has been neglected and left behind. The Youth Project is working to change this. By creating an environment where youth can thrive, they are breaking down barriers and bringing people together.

Diepsloot Youth Project organises workshops, talks, and social events that bring people together while also providing a safe space where youth can express themselves freely. They believe in empowering youth by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life, while also teaching adults how to be more accepting of diversity.

The Youth Project is changing lives one person at a time and changing the world we live in for generations to come!

The first thing that strikes you upon stepping into the Youth Project Community in Diepsloot is the smiling faces of children. They are having so much fun there, which makes you want to join them! The music and dancing enthralls you, as you start feeling like a part of it too. In a matter of few steps, you’re connected with this community and you want to learn more about its activities and plans. You are hooked! From one person who joined this community till the present moment, we have seen the change happening in this area. Let’s make it stronger!

Folks, come with us as we ride through Diepsloot. There’s no denying that it is one of the largest informal settlements of Johannesburg, a melting pot that houses almost all the communities in the city. Not just housing complexes and hostels, but also schools, community centres, health clinics and even churches have their presence here. It is home to over 20000 residents who live a life filled with joy and happiness.

Diepsloot Youth Project is hosted at Diepsloot by the Brand South Africa Foundation. Showcasing leadership from the youth, this project aims to arm them with knowledge for their future career path and equip them with resources for their livelihoods. With many taking up various jobs like driving cabs or working in restaurants, they are helping transforming this community one by one!

The Youth Project is all about creating a safe space for youth to come together, talk about their problems, and find solutions. And guess what? The Diepsloot Youth Project has been going strong since 1992! It’s one of the longest-running community projects in South Africa, and it’s still going strong!

Diepsloot Youth Project is a great place for youth to turn to when they need support or want to be heard. It provides a safe space where they can feel comfortable opening up and asking for help. With volunteers on hand who are trained in counselling skills, the project can provide the solutions that youth need. Plus, it’s affordable and accessible so that no youth feels excluded or alone.
