They say, ‘Nurture what you love and you’ll probably end up loving it’… Well, that’s just one of the many philosophies by which we operate at Diepsloot Youth Project. A mere 2-km drive from Johannesburg city centre, this NPO is one of the largest youth-led non-profit organizations in South Africa. Over the last 24 years, we have built a diverse community of over 20 000 young people who live by our core values: esteem, respect, and responsibility. Not only that, but we also offer a plethora of services to help them reach their full potential – from positive life skills training to financial literacy classes to health awareness programmes.

Youth are the future of any society, and yet they are often overlooked or left behind. Diepsloot Youth Project is changing that by creating a space where these young people can be seen and heard. Youth Project brings together young people from different backgrounds, cultures and religions to create a safe haven where they can explore their interests and develop their skills.

Youth Project helps build confidence in these young people by providing them with opportunities to grow, learn and develop in all aspects of life. With programs that include entrepreneurship classes, campaign making workshops, dance classes, art classes and much more, Youth Project creates a space for youth where they feel welcomed and accepted for who they are.

It’s all about giving back to the community. Diepsloot Youth Project is an NPO based in Diepsloot, South Africa that aims to make a change in the lives of disadvantaged youth by providing them with education and skills development programs. Youth are encouraged to take up leadership roles and participate in various community projects. Through their efforts, they hope to transform their community into a better place.

Our programs are designed with the youth in mind, and we always seek to incorporate new and innovative ways to deliver quality services that meet their needs.

We believe in building relationships of trust and respect; cultivating skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication; and empowering youth to live freely and happily HIV-negative lives. Youth unemployment is a grave concern today. Youth Project Diepsloot is addressing this issue by building the future of tomorrow’s leaders. Through youth development programs and sustainable employment opportunities, the Youth Project aims to empower marginalized youths and develop them into productive citizens. In addition, by providing them with holistic education, they aim to give them all round development so that they can compete in any field of their choice.
