When you have a passion for something, you don’t wait to start. And that’s what Diepsloot Youth Project and their Choir Festival stand for. They believe in the power of music and they want as many people as possible to experience it. That’s why they’re hosting one of the largest choirs festivals in the country this weekend, an event which features various genres and styles of music from all over the world. If you’ve ever dreamed about singing like an angel or feeling pure joy on stage, this is your chance!

It is said that music soothes the soul, and what better way to do it than in a choir!

This festival has been going on for many years now and each year sees a new crop of young singers taking centre stage. Be it classical or contemporary, these kids have their voices set on the world stage. And they’re not stopping there! They plan to take the next step in their careers that’s right up there with the best of them.

‘Diepsloot Youth Project’ is one such organization that helps aspiring singers develop their skills and reach out for international fame. Various contests are held every year to scout for talent and give opportunities to budding performers. If you want your child to be a singer, then this is a must-attend festival for you! Who knows, you might be singing along yourself soon enough…

Diepsloot is one of the newer townships to have a thriving choir. They organise a two-day event every year where participants from all over the country come to watch and participate in choirs. The turnout for this event is overwhelming, with over a hundred children participating in different choirs at once! Youth Project has been supporting this initiative as it provides young people with an opportunity to bond and grow together through singing. We’d like to congratulate everyone who participated in this wonderful project!

The Diepsloot Youth Project is a charitable organisation based in Diepsloot, Johannesburg that aims to empower female youth and give them a voice. This choir festival brings together young women from all over South Africa to participate in workshops, singing and dancing sessions.

The project has been running for over a decade and has grown into an amazing community where women are empowered through education, leadership and friendship. The first annual Choir Festival will take place at the end of December 2017. We invite the whole community to come together as we celebrate our culture and diversity!
