Youth, take a bow! As the sun sets in the sky, you are settling in for the night at Diepsloot Youth Project. This camp is your home away from home – where you feel safe and loved, where you learn new skills and explore your interests, and where you are a part of something bigger than yourself.

From preparing food to posting on social media, or planning events and fundraising, our youth are busy making a difference by positively affecting their community. They want to make sure others have access to high-quality education, healthcare and nutrition – so they’re taking action! And it’s inspiring us all day long.

Getting a camp under way isn’t easy, but when the weather doesn’t cooperate and you have to run to get everything set up, it becomes even more challenging. That’s what the Diepsloot Youth Project team has been going through since Sunday. After months of planning and seeking financial support, they are finally ready to start their first camp! The camp is aimed at getting kids off the streets and into a positive lifestyle. In their free time, they can attend workshops on everything from cooking to photography. The project is also partnering with a local skating rink so that kids can learn how to skate safely.

The future looks bright for these kids – let’s make sure that by reaching out to them we can help them reach it!

Youth living in the streets of Johannesburg are at a greater risk of being involved in crime and are more likely to be victims of abuse and violence, according to youth development experts. The Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) wants to change that. They’ve gathered a group of youngsters living on the streets of Johannesburg and are helping them get back on track with life by offering them a safe haven where they can live, learn, develop, and thrive.

DYP is a non-profit organization committed to empowering young people through holistic programming that promotes health, education, and wellbeing. The Diepsloot Youth Project runs an after-school programme for youth aged between 11 and 18 years old that offers educational enrichment classes as well as life skills training.

Youth are rising faster than we can keep pace with. With every passing day, new youngsters join us and adapt to the ways of our society. Some of them have even stayed for a longer span, helping us shape them into tomorrow’s leaders and role-models. We at Diepsloot Youth Project are proud of every youngster in our midst, as they make tremendous contributions to the world around them. Together, let’s make sure they grow up to be strong and capable individuals!

Kids in need deserve all the help they can get. That is why we have decided to open up our doors and do our bit to make sure that every child who walks through them gets a warm welcome and feels special.

DYCP is a place where kids feel at home and are cared for, where they can express themselves freely and learn new skills that will help them in their day-to-day lives. Our volunteers and staff work hard to provide the best possible care to each and every child who visits us, ensuring that they get the resources they need to be happy, healthy and confident.
