Diepsloot Youth Project is a non-profit that uses cycling to change lives for the better. By partnering with them, you’re investing in the future of Johannesburg – young people who are active and healthy.

The youth of this suburb is mostly deprived of their rights and the cycle tour is to make them aware about it.

DYM has organized a cycling tour for the youth of Diepsloot. The idea behind this tour is to give a medium-fun ride through diepsloot, so that they can know what Diepsloot has in store for them. It will also help them understand how important it is to be aware of one’s rights. The bike ride will be followed by an interactive session where them will get an opportunity to share their experiences and learn from each other. They will also be given pamphlets containing information about their rights by the Youth Protection Officer (YPO) of Diepsloot.

Where do you start a cycling tour through a city that’s notorious for its crime rate and poverty? At the youth project obviously! The Diepsloot Youth Project has been working for the last 15 years to bring about positive change in the community.

Their latest endeavour is cycling tours through this troubled area, where young people are counselled on skills such as communication, financial literacy and digital inclusion. These tours not only provide participants with valuable life skills, but also give them an opportunity to see how the youth project works from the inside out.

Get ready to experience Johannesburg like never before as you ride through Diepsloot! The unique township is known for its diversity in both culture and religion, and the cycling tour will take you right through it.

Start your morning with a prayer at one of the many mosques while enjoying breakfast at the local restaurant. Then follow the tour along N2 or R5 towards Braamfontein, passing some of Johannesburg’s largest schools. Next up is Soweto, where there are several church buildings available for your viewing pleasure. And then it’s onto Diepsloot again! Your last stop will be at Diepsloot Cycle Palace for some refreshments and entertainment.
