Youth project Diepsloot is a place where children and young adults learn, play, make new friends, and get involved in community service. The program offers classes for toddlers, kids, teenagers, and adults on various topics. Youth leaders teach the classes with the help of volunteers. Classes are held every Sunday from 9AM-12PM at the Diepsloot Library.

In addition to classes, there are plenty of other activities like music sessions, movie watching parties and much more. You can also join their youth group or become a youth leader.

Youth today are a lot more open about their sexuality, and on top of that, are also in touch with their autonomy. As a result, the youth sheltering under DYP has seen a spike in the number of LGBT+ youth seeking help. The project is working 24/7 to address all their needs and provide them with holistic support.

They have a vibrant online presence as well, which offers easy-to-follow directions to reach the shelter, services provided there and more. But most importantly, it provides a safe space for youth where they can be themselves and find acceptance. All this while, being pro-active towards the HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in the area.

Youth need to be empowered and inspired to take charge of their lives. Youth Project is an initiative that aims at creating a space where they can do so. Located in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, the Youth Project offers various programs and activities that aim at promoting positive social development among children and young people.

From art classes to sports competitions, from free health screenings to fun activities, there’s always something exciting going on here! All of it is run by volunteers who want to give back and make a difference in the lives of these youngsters.

AMA Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative of Diepsloot Children’s Home that aims to empower children by providing them with an all-round education.
