In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of your daily life, it can be really easy to forget about the world around you. But, at Diepsloot Youth Project, we do our best to ensure that every child feels like a part of this world. We do this by making sure that they have access to a range of services that will help them in their developmental stage. We have programs for everything from nutrition and healthcare to arts and crafts. This project is run by volunteers who are out there doing what they love because they want to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.

Youth empowerment through development is what the Diepsloot Youth Project stands for. The project has built a strong base in the locals’ trust by being a constant presence in their lives. Youth leaders, volunteers, and staff visit homes and schools, hold discussions with elders, teach English and computer classes, distribute food items, and so on to increase their outreach.

The youth know that when they are accompanied by someone who understands them and has their best interest at heart, things get done.

When life takes you on a roller coaster ride, what do you do? You get up, get going, and try to find a way out. This is exactly what those living in Diepsloot have done over the years – they landed on their feet, tried new things and made sense of things. The Youth Project is one such gem that has emerged to provide an empowering space for children and young adults.

Diepsloot Youth Project offers a variety of different programs to help youth build skills and develop into successful adults. From educational workshops to life skills classes and more, there’s something for everyone at DYP. Not only does the organization provide tailored programs that are effective, but they also do so in a way that is respectful of participants’ identities and ensures that no one is excluded from participating in DYP programs.

Youth are the future of any nation and Diepsloot Youth Project is working hard to make sure they have all the required skills to take up leadership positions in the country.

DYC is spreading its wings across the globe, but it started off in Diepsloot with a vision that’s clear and concise: to prepare youth for their future- -by teaching them how to think critically, work in teams, and how to be leaders.
