Long-tern forecast’ has become a metaphor for how the youth of Diepsloot, Johannesburg, feel about life. If you’ve never heard it before, let me introduce you to it. It is essentially a way to describe your mood or feeling towards something in life. You might call it the ‘Jeetega bhajana’ of Diepsloot Youth Project! The Youth Project was conceptualized in 2009 by 3 young guys with a penchant for activism and social change – Anukul Roy Choudhary, Deepak Dhawan and Rahul Chadha. They wanted to do something that would not only inspire, but also positively impact a generation on their state of development. The Youth Project is all about showing the world what youth can achieve when they work together and believe in themselves. What started out as an idea with just 20 kids has now grown into one of the largest youth empowerment programs in South Africa today with over 1 000 volunteers working for young people every day.

Diepsloot is one of the oldest townships in South Africa and it’s known for its thriving entertainment industry, which caters for all types of audiences.

But what about young people? There is a group that has been helping them find their footing in life by providing them with an environment where they can explore and develop their interests. They call themselves Diepsloot Youth Project, and they believe that everyone deserves a chance to find their place in the world.

Youth Unemployment has been on the rise across the globe, and to tackle this problem, we have Diepsloot Youth Project. The project aims to empower unemployed and marginalized youth in South Africa by providing them with job opportunities and entrepreneurship training.

DYP is a nonprofit organization that works towards making a change for the better in South Africa through its programs.
