When your neighborhood is plagued with potholes and broken sidewalks, you have to do something! That’s why Diepsloot Youth Project started the Pedestrian Bridge project in 2017.The project aims to provide safe, accessible infrastructure for all pedestrians across DIEPSLOOT. The pedestrian bridge will not only make walking more comfortable for residents but will also help save lives by reducing traffic accidents. In addition to that, the project is also helping local youth gain important work experience and life skills. Keep up the good work guys!
Is it difficult for you to walk over a bridge? How about crossing a stream? We dread feeling unsafe even in our own neighborhoods, but what if those fears didn’t have to hold you back?
The Diepsloot Youth Project is changing that. The team behind this project believes that every person has the right to walk freely and feel safe wherever they go. They are committed to making that change a reality, one pedestrian bridge at a time. With their help, we can all say goodbye to our fears and hello to a more open, accepting world.
Getting around town or village with ease is not just important for the kids but also for their elders. For them, there is no dearth of pedestrian bridges or overpasses that make it easy for them to cross the roads without getting hit by a speeding car. So how about adding a pedestrian bridge in your neighborhood?
Diepsloot Youth Project has come up with Pedestrian Bridge project to bring smiles on faces of people living in and around the nearby areas. The youth volunteers are working round-the-clock to create a safe and comfortable environment for pedestrians. They are constructing pedestrian bridge from recycled materials, keeping in mind the environment and animal life as well.
The project team comprises of 3 volunteers who are working tirelessly to make this idea a reality.
A pedestrian bridge is a great way to ease traffic congestion, but why not take it one step further and make it also help promote safety for pedestrians? The Diepsloot Youth Project has done just that with their DIEPSLOOT PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE. The innovative design features an archway made of interlocking concrete blocks that allows both cars and pedestrians to navigate safely across the road.
The Diepsloot Youth Project’s goal is to empower young people in South Africa by providing them with opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have. By building the DIEPSLOOT PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE, they are creating a safer environment for all users – drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. They are committed to working towards making this vision a reality, so keep an eye out for their future projects!
The world we live in is connected and traversing it is easy now. But, the older and the less connected you are, the harder that seems to be. Recently, a Pedestrian bridge was constructed across DIEPSLOOT river, connecting South Africa’s largest informal settlement – Diepsloot. Now, people living there have become more aware of their surroundings and have started walking over the bridge as they feel safer crossing roads now.
But what an amazing change it has brought to them! As they walk over the bridge, they can see how life in Diepsloot has changed since construction began and feel proud of their community. Moreover, it has helped make Diepsloot a quieter place where citizens feel safe to stroll at night without fearing for their lives or being harassed by criminals.
