Youth are the future of this country, and we believe that every youth has his or her own unique and beautiful story to tell. Youth Project Diepsloot is a youth empowerment nonprofit organization working towards promoting an inclusive society where everyone feels welcomed and respected. We aim to create a safe space for disadvantaged children and adolescents to develop themselves, build self-esteem, and achieve their full potential. With an extensive range of programs and initiatives, we want to make a difference in our community.

The Youth Project Diepsloot protests against all forms of discrimination and injustice. It believes that equal rights should be given to all without any exception. We are against gender-based violence, unplanned pregnancies, crimes against women, etc., because these are issues that affect us all as human beings. Let us make a change in this regard together.

Diepsloot Youth Project has been protesting for several years now, demanding that the municipality take action to improve the living conditions for youth in Diepsloot. They have taken their protest to various forums and have reached out to politicians, who seem to be turning a blind eye towards their plight. This time, they decided to take their protest one step further and organized a demonstration in which allies joined forces with them. The purpose of the protest was two-fold – firstly, to get attention from the government and secondly, to let people know about the plight of the youth in Diepsloot.

Diepsloot Youth Project: Time for action!

Youth power has been increasing every day since the dawn of time, and it seems like Diepsloot Youth Project is also a part of that. Today, they are leading protests against the corporates in an effort to ensure safer working conditions for the workforce.

DYJ Project’s objective is to create awareness about various social issues and instill a sense of responsibility on youth. Youth are leading today’s conversations and are making crucial decisions on future possibilities. We should all listen to their words!

Today is a day of protest for all those affected by the disregard and disrespect of our community by the Diepsloot Youth Project. We have been protesting for over 6 years now, and are yet to see any progress. We challenge the authority and management of this project to take responsibility for their actions and make amends. We request that they stop harassing, intimidating, and threatening our community with eviction notices. They need to respect us as a space where youth can congregate without fear of being criminalized or harassed.

We are tired of living in constant fear, tired of feeling unsafe in our own homes, tired of being treated like animals by people who claim themselves as saints. And we demand that these things change now!
