The youth project offers various activities for the youth of Diepsloot, so that they can stay active while also learning important life skills. In addition to this, the project helps young people develop social skills by organising fun events like movie nights and bonfire parties. They have also started a food-sharing project so that food insecurity can be eradicated in the area.

Residents of Diepsloot in South Africa feel safer after a community-based project was set up to stabilise the area. The youth project has installed CCTV cameras, manned police patrols, and organised community workshops and sports. This is the first time such an initiative has been undertaken in Diepsloot, located 25km outside Johannesburg.

In an effort to reduce crime and drug abuse in the neighbourhood, Diepsloot Youth Project aims to improve security by installing surveillance cameras to assist law enforcement officials. They have also instituted youth mentorship programs that aim to improve children’s moral values and help them stay out of trouble.
