We all have the power to change our neighbourhoods for the better. And Diepsloot Youth Project is helping residents take that power by creating lasting change in their communities by promoting local youth involvement and empowerment. We’ve helped over 1 000 youth develop leadership, communication, and social skills, and we’re committed to empowering them so they can make a positive impact on their lives.

Thanks to your support, we’re able to provide them with life skills workshops to help them thrive in today’s society. From personal finances and healthy eating habits to conflict resolution and community engagement, they’re becoming leaders who are changing their communities for the better.

No one should face such inhuman situations in their lives. But unfortunately, it is not an uncommon thing in the city of Diepsloot. The youth have decided to take up arms and stand up for what’s right.

“Brutal crimes are not going to be tolerated in our society,” says a resident of Diepsloot Youth Project. “We will take the law into our own hands.” A by-product of growing crime and insecurity in larger cities, residents have become increasingly vigilant when it comes to protecting themselves from criminals. They are aware that things could change at any moment, so they want to be prepared for anything. They want to live their lives with self-confidence and dignity intact, no matter what might come their way.

Who is the real criminal? Is it the pusher who keeps on preying on kids, or is it the parents who take no action against him/her? We are all guilty of some form of crime every day. It’s just that we don’t want to admit it. That is why Diepsloot Youth Project was started – to fight these crimes head on!

Diepsloot Youth Project is a team of volunteers who act as a crime stoppers and educators in Diepsloot. They are determined to make a change in this community and hope that you join them in their efforts.

Everyday, kids in Diepsloot make the choice to take law and order into their own hands. Cars are stolen, houses are burgled and people are robbed. Residents know that bad deeds don’t go unpunished – so they take justice into their own hands. What started as a call for help from frustrated residents has turned into a well-oiled machine of crime busting youth volunteers.

Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) is a group of local kids who have joined forces to keep their neighborhoods safe and secure. With years of training and experience under their belt, DYP members know exactly what it takes to catch criminals red-handed.
