Residents living in the Diepsloot area are fed up with crime and want action. They resent what they see as the government’s complacency towards it, and vow to keep up their anti-crime protests. The Youth Project aims to address this by engaging kids in programs that teach them life skills and how to become safer citizens. ‘Diepsloot is our home, we shouldn’t live in fear of criminals,’ says a resident who was part of the protests.

‘We have lost faith in our leaders and feel we are being forgotten by them. We will stand united until we see results,’ say others.

Young people in Diepsloot are fed up of crime and want it to stop. On Monday morning, they took to the streets for the fifth time this year in protest against crime and violence, which have been plaguing their community for years. “Enough is enough,” they shouted as they made their way from one end of Diepsloot to the other.

“We need jobs, education, and police in our area. Without these things, how can we live peacefully?” asked 20-year-old Eleazar Sibiya. “I am tired of being a victim.” He is not alone. The youth of Diepsloot are standing together against all forms of crime, and vow to continue their protests until change happens.

Diepsloot is a notorious area for crime. Residents are fed up with the lawlessness, and they’ve decided to take matters into their hands. Youth Project, a non-profit initiative working in collaboration with the South Africa Police Service, aims to end crime in Diepsloot through education and empowerment.

The project has provided over 400 youth with basic life skills such as reading and writing, and Information Technology that will be useful in their future careers. Another 100 young men have joined them on weekends where they learn how to fight crime and how their rights are being violated.

Diepsloot is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Johannesburg. Residents here face a daily onslaught of crime, and every day they vow to continue their anti-crime protests. The Diepsloot Youth Project is changing this cycle of violence with programs that empower young people and give them a voice.

DYJP aims to create a safer neighborhood through youth empowerment and leadership development. By providing educational opportunities, mentorship programs, and life skills training, we are helping our youth become successful individuals who can make positive change in their community.

Protesting against crime is always a good thing, but what about protesting in the middle of it? Sounds like an experience that doesn’t really deserve a place in history, right? Wrong! Meet Diepsloot Youth Project. The youth of Diepsloot have vowed to continue their anti-crime protests till the area becomes crime-free.

DYP started its campaign on 6th April 2016 and they haven’t stopped till now. The residents of Diepslott are continuing their efforts to clean their neighbourhood from all forms of criminal activities. They hold demonstrations every week, block roads and burn tires in order to raise awareness about crime in the area. Though the police seems unresponsive towards their demands, DYP doesn’t take this as an excuse to stop. They will continue fighting till the last criminal is brought to justice and peace has been restored in Diepsloot

“””We’ll keep protesting till crime stops!”” They said it loud, we’ll keep printing it big!
