Youth is the future of any society, and Diepsloot Youth Project is working towards making sure that future is a peaceful one. They organize workshops and open spaces where young people can come together without fear of discrimination or violence. The project also provides meals, clothes, and other necessities to the youth in the neighborhood. The shutdown they planned on June 20 will force us to take notice, and hopefully show that we stand with them as allies in their fight for a safer tomorrow

Every Sunday, Diepsloot’s youth project shuts down the main street of the area with music, art and activities. These young people are trying to make a change in their community and want to make sure they’re heard. They’ve taken over a street – but they can take over your life too!

Diepsloot Youth Project is about giving these young people a chance to be heard by righting some of the wrongs that have been committed in their community over time. They are using music, art and activities as tools for change, and it’s working – slowly but surely.

Diepsloot is one of the biggest metropolitan areas in South Africa and growing at a fast pace. It’s truly amazing to see that it has such a positive and constructive influence on the community. In partnership with Diepsloot Youth Project, we decided to venture out and see what goes on in this region. The Youth Project aims to empower young people, with the drive and determination to make their dreams come true, no matter what it may be. They provide them with the necessary resources so that they can take charge of their future.

It is inspiring to see how these kids are working hard towards achieving their goals and making a difference in this world! Join us as we support these kids who want nothing but success – together we’re going places!

Shut down by the youth of Diepsloot, this road has been under construction since May 2018. The reason: to make commuting easier and safer for pedestrians. Created in partnership with Johannesburg Nelson Rooftop pedestrian walkway will be an extra-wide pathway connecting Diepsloot’s school and church. Thanks to their hard work, the hopes of a more convenient commute are coming true!

Youth in our area are often restless, bored and in search of something new to do. When they hear about the youth project run by Diepsloot Group, they flock to participate. It’s an opportunity to engage with the community and make a difference at the same time. It’s a chance to gain important life skills like communication and negotiation that will help them succeed in today’s competitive world.

Diepsloot Youth Project brings together young people from all backgrounds, giving them the space and resources they need to live their lives as independently as possible. Thanks to this project, many of them have found jobs, enrolled in school or started their own businesses – all crucial steps towards living happy and fulfilling lives.
