In such cases, the Diepsloot Youth Project comes into picture. This project was conceptualized a long time ago by the government officials who wanted to take the youth of this area forward. The idea is simple – imparting knowledge and skills that are required for a better tomorrow in today’s world.
The youth of Diepsloot has already shown their grit as they eagerly await for the cabs to arrive and get dropped off. They might seem shy at first but once you gain their trust, they’ll do whatever it takes to help you out!

They provide youth with resources such as internet access and computers so they can reach out, and an important platform to express themselves. Youth unemployment is a worldwide phenomenon nowadays. Many youth want to do something but lack the required skills and experience. That’s where DYP comes in!
DYP is a youth development project that equips young people with the skills they need to find employment. Through classes, workshops and mentoring programs, DYP helps participants develop their career skills while also improving their overall life conditions. Because of this, participants are more likely to find long-term employment and stay in the workforce.
Diepsloot Youth Project has partnered with Diepsloot Taxi Rank to provide young people with opportunities they wouldn’t have otherwise had. The Diepsloot extension 5 taxi rank offers free transportation for youth who are looking for a way out of poverty or simply just want an easier ride home from work! We know that a safe ride home is important for every student, so we’re happy to provide SAPS rides as well. Our aim is to help as many youth as possible reach their full potential – together!
