A new name, a new taxi rank! From now on, Diepsloot’s Youth Project has a new home – Diepsloot Extension 6. Follow the yellow signs to the newest branch of DYP, which is located in Menlyn Square. Run by volunteers who are committed to providing quality youth services, DYP seeks to empower disadvantaged youth through education and training. They offer everything from literacy programs to job skills workshops, and regular activities like movies night and Gourmet Night. With over 600 participants on its books every year, DYP is making a difference in South Africa!

Diepsloot Youth Project is a youth development organisation that works with the children and adolescents in this township. The organisation runs a variety of programs, which aim to empower the marginalised youth and create a positive impact on their life.

It’s 4pm and you’re stuck in a taxi rank. There are so many cabs around you that it seems like they have been there for ages. You’ve finally decided to walk over to a nearby petrol station and see if maybe the guys there can call you a cab, but on your way, you saw something interesting. A young man was putting out an ad on DYP’s Taxi Rank. Curious, you walk over and ask him about it. He says he owns the taxi rank and is hiring people to fill vacancies at his company. How neat!
