Do you know that every day, 6-7 youth fall prey to crime?
These kids comprise the future of our country and it is imperative that we do our bit to save them. Youth Project Diepsloot is a movement that wants to change this narrative by providing a platform for youth development. They believe in creating a safe and inclusive space where youth can develop their leadership skills, build their confidence and learn from each other.
Join us in supporting this initiative, because when one sees the power of community conversation, it changes lives forever.
Want to know what’s making a difference in your neighbourhood? Join us for youth conversations, where you can find out about the innovative ways communities are tackling issues like crime and poverty.
We’re all in this together – and that’s exactly what our Diepsloot Youth Project is all about. This is a chance for you to get involved in making a difference in your community, and it’s an opportunity to learn more about how others are thinking outside the box when it comes to solving problems.
When: Every second Tuesday of the month! Where: Diepsloot township community conversation will be taking place at the Diepsloot Youth Project office, located on Merewa Street, from 5pm onwards.
A youth dialogue is a perfect way to get people talking and exchanging ideas. Diepsloot Youth Project has organised many such discussions, and they’re gaining popularity every passing day. The first discussion held in June this year was followed by many others, but the most recent one was held by the youth of Diepsloot on Saturday.
Diepsloot Youth Project’s aim is to create awareness about various issues and make people understand the importance of taking up social responsibilities. They organise numerous dialogues across all ages and genders to keep the nation on their toes!
Kids grow up fast, and the time comes that they need somewhere to call home. They have to adjust to new things, new people and a new environment. This is where Diepsloot Youth Project comes in. The youth project aims at giving them an opportunity to gain a better understanding of their surroundings and helping them transition into adulthood. For every project participant, this means spending quality time with friends and family engaging in creative activities that build community spirit.
The youth project also offers job training programs where kids can learn valuable skills that will help them succeed in life – while they are having fun along the way! And when they’re ready, they can think about making their own homes in the area by volunteering with the youth project or setting up their own business.
There is a youth project called Diepsloot Youth Project that exists to empower the young leaders of the community. The project started in 2012, and since then, it has welcomed children, teens, and adults in their classes. The classes cover various topics related to health and hygiene, leadership skills and interpersonal skills, among others. They also have an option for kids who are interested in making money by selling clothes or collecting waste. The classes are interactive, where students learn from their mistakes as well as from their peers.
The youth organizers of this project believe that every child is important and deserves respect. Children should be allowed to explore new things without any judgement or bias. They should be nurtured and given the opportunity to shine!
