Hunger is a feeling everyone has experienced at one point of time or the other. It can make anyone lose their appetite, and while there are ways to tackle it, like food insecurity and malnutrition, there is no such method that addresses hunger in its entirety. That’s where the Diepsloot Youth Project comes in. The long-term initiative of Feeding scheme, aims to end hunger by providing meals for underprivileged people every day of the year.

The way it goes about this is quite simple: the youth volunteers collect food from their homes, stock it in a nearby shop, and keep on ringing door-to-door to deliver the meals. The idea is to spread awareness about hunger and get more people involved with feeding schemes in general.

Many of us have faced the problem of not having enough food on our table at one point or another. For many of us, it becomes an emergency, for others, it’s a regular occurrence. Either way, we all have our own unique ways of coping with it. For some, it means cooking and eating meals at home more often; for others, it means heading to work every day without skipping a meal; and for many, it entails feeding those who are less fortunate.

Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) is here to help you cope with that problem! Their Feeding scheme aims to make sure that no needy person goes hungry by providing them food every day. There are a few requirements though – you need to register yourself on the website, upload photos and contacts of your family members as well as information about their dietary needs and preferences so that DYP could plan accordingly.

When you have nothing to eat in your pantry but stale sandwich and your friends seem to be having more variety, it becomes imperative to think of solutions. Diepsloot Youth Project is one such solution that helps you and the people around you.Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers, Diepsloot Youth Project feeds the underprivileged of the area with food from its pantry. The scheme is run on a weekly basis, where they collect surplus food from various grocery stores in and around the area, and distribute it among needy families. But this is not just about providing food; it’s also about spreading happiness, hope, and positivity in their lives by making them feel like one big family!

Feeding children is an important part of taking care of them. While it is being taken for granted by many, the Diepsloot Youth Project has been working towards improving nutrition and health awareness among children.

During their food distribution drives held twice a month, they stock up on nutritious food items like rice, maize, wheat etc that help in their growth and development. They also provide nutritional supplements such as vitamins, which can help boost immunity in children. All this helps in improving the health of the kids and making them strong.

Feeding hungry children is an exemplary act of humanity and kindness. With the Diepsloot Youth Project, it becomes an efficient way to build long-term relationships, boost self-esteem, and make a difference in the world. Every month, volunteers visit schools to feed the students lunchbox in hand. In doing so, they teach them life skills such as patience and communication, while helping create a culture where people care for others.

If you have a few hours on a weekend afternoon or during office hours, here’s your chance to change lives!
