Every child deserves a childhood without pain and trauma.
Diepsloot Youth Project builds homes and schools for children who have been affected by violence, abuse, or neglect. We offer a safe haven where children can rebuild their lives and feel loved again.
With our help, they can experience the joy of school again and learn new skills that will help them in the future. Our volunteers work hard to create a positive environment where children can thrive.
There are not many adults who understand the difficulties faced by children, especially in a place like Diepsloot. When Neftaly Malatjie founded the Diepsloot Youth Project, she wanted to change this.
The project works with children aged 5-18 years old and focuses on three main areas: education, entrepreneurship and health. The children learn how to read and write, develop cognitive skills, build self-esteem and become more confident. They also learn life skills such as budgeting, time management, and team building so they can be successful when they leave the project.
Neftaly believes that giving disadvantaged kids a chance to realize their full potential will go a long way in changing their lives for the better.
Want an adventure that will change your life? Join Diepsloot Youth Project and let us change the world. This is something you have never experienced before. Diepsloot Youth Project is an adventure that will leave its mark in your heart forever. We are out to change the world by bringing about a change in mentality through youth empowerment programs. A youth who joins our project gives up on crime, drugs, alcohol, and all other addictions.
Who wouldn’t want to join us? We are looking for 25 enthusiastic volunteers across South Africa to join us on this amazing journey of changing lives one by one. Please apply if you are up for the challenge and ready to be a part of history!
Ever wondered what life is like for kids in Diepsloot? Well, wonder no more.
Meet Neftaly, who runs Diepsloot Youth Project. Having lived in the area all his life, he wanted to do something to help the children there. So he started a project where local children get education, clothes, and food – all for free. And it’s working! With volunteers across different age groups, they’re helping some of the most disadvantaged children in South Africa have a chance at success.
Do you want to be a part of this incredible project? If so, join Neftaly and other volunteers on Monday evenings at 20:00 at Diepsloot Local Municipality Plaza! We’d love to see you there!
Youth unemployment is a global problem. And in South Africa, it is especially pronounced. Indiasization has long been touted as the solution to this issue, but many believe that the Diepsloot Youth Project has shown that this is possible too. Neftaly Malatjie founded the project in 2011 to create employment and develop employable skills among young people who have been unemployed for an extended period of time. For every hour a youth spends at the project, he or she gets paid R400, which can be used to purchase food or clothes. The youth learn new skills and are encouraged to take up jobs once they are able to do so.
