Diepsloot is known for its crime, drug abuse, and violence. But what most don’t know is that there’s a bright side to Diepsloot. Children and youth of this district are schooled here and are passing their class 10th in one go. They dream of becoming engineers, surgeons or computer geeks but the pass marks require them to do so much more than that! In the Youth Project by Diepsloot they’re learning how to be responsible citizens who understand their rights and opportunities.

When you hear the word ‘youth’, do you think of a bunch of rambunctious, carefree individuals? Or is it a bunch of ones who have figured out the meaning of life and are living it to the fullest?

Diepsloot Youth Project believes in both. By helping youth understand the meaning behind life, they are able to make informed decisions on their future. They see that education is not just about passing exams; but also about learning new things and understanding different cultures.

By providing social opportunities for them, DYP ensures that they become well-rounded citizens who can take up bigger responsibilities in the society. Collectively, we aim for a better tomorrow for Diepsloot Children and youth by making them proud to be South Africans!

Parenting is hard work, and we all know that. But when you’re raising a child in a tough neighborhood like Diepsloot, it’s even harder. Children in such areas need extra support, and that’s where the Youth Project comes in. With their programs, the youth are able to develop skills necessary for life, while having fun at the same time.

Diepsloot Youth Project has helped over 200 children across Diepsloot grow up strong and confident. They’ve expanded their reach beyond Diepsloot now to help other children as well! We believe that every child deserves equal opportunity and quality education; so let’s make a change together!

Imagine being a kid in an area where other kids are not allowed to play. Where the streets are littered with garbage and filth, where no one looks after you. Where your teachers talk down to you and laugh at your expense. That’s how most children feel when they live in Diepsloot, South Africa. While we may be economically powerful, we’re also mentally weak as a result of our dismal childhoods. But now, thanks to DYP!

Diepsloot Youth Project is changing that mindset by increasing the pass mark of Diepsloot Children and youth by participating in sports, reading classes, drama classes and community service activities. Through these activities we are becoming self-aware citizens who understand the importance of caring for others and contributing towards the betterment of society. In short: We are growing up strong!
