We all have heard the stories, but can we do something about it? We all know that crime is on the rise and we have to do something. So, when Diepsloot Youth Project came up with an idea of a sport against crime programme, they just knew that it would work wonders! This amazing programme matches young people from different backgrounds with law enforcement agencies in an effort to curb crime and violence. Sport teaches them discipline and builds their confidence, so these kids are ready to take on the world!
Diepsloot Youth Project has been running for 7 years now and has reached out to over 10000 kids across South Africa in 6 years. In those 6 years alone, DYP has grown from strength to strength and doesn’t seem like slowing down any time soon!

The youth in Diepsloot are also known for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit. And it’s not surprising when we hear that they’re part of a programme which is all about fighting crime by way of sport!
The DYP is an incredible program which puts kids on to the field to play against criminals! But, the real fun starts once you see these youngsters come together with one goal: to win! With passion and spirit running high, these kids will surely be able to go all out against their opponents. With the support of local law enforcement agencies and community leaders, it’s obvious why this programme has been so successful. Who knows? Maybe one day soon, you’ll be part of it too!
What do you say when a sport is so effective in changing people’s mindsets? When such a programme is giving value to every young person, we understand that it has the potential of transforming their lives. Diepsloot Youth Project is an incredible sport against crime programme that teaches children not just how to play but what it means to be responsible citizens.
As the name suggests, the project is based out of Diepsloot and runs through local schools where kids get opportunity to learn about crime prevention and how they can contribute towards society. They participate in soft skill development activities like sports, dance and music, all for the sake of making our society better. The administrators are also committed towards making sure that all kids get equal opportunities as much as possible. Kids from poor backgrounds get extra attention from volunteers because these folks understand what life is like for them on daily basis.
The future looks bright for this project because there isn’t a child out there who doesn’t know about Diepsloot Youth Project!

Diepsloot Youth Project is a remarkable sport against crime programme that engages children from across the globe to make a difference in their communities by playing sports. The project takes inspiration from the literacy and education initiatives being implemented in schools, where children are taught how to read and write. Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative that allows children to play like they learn, which is why it has become so popular among kids, teachers and parents alike.
