In the municipality of Diepsloot in South Africa, many youth have come forward to explore the world through their own business ventures. They believe in themselves and their capacity to make something big out of it. That’s where Diepsloot Youth Project comes in! It provides mentorship, resources, and most importantly support to help turn these dreamers into successful entrepreneurs.

When it comes to identifying startups and funding them, only a few have taken cognizance of the importance of investing in black entrepreneurs. Diepsloot Youth Project is one such organisation that has recognised the power of black creativity. The project aims at empowering black youth in creating innovative ventures and plans to support these entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, access to resources and more.

DYIP believes that black youth have untapped potential and has launched an initiative that will lead them to success. Through its various initiatives like Start-Up Boot Camp, Entrepreneurship Development Program, etc., DYIP wants to invest in talent and provide opportunities for growth.

In South Africa, youth unemployment is a big concern and is estimated to be close to 30% among young adults.

The Diepsloot Youth Project aims to reduce this number by investing in young entrepreneurs and helping them attain financial independence. They do so by providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to learn marketing, sales and customer service skills, while working alongside experienced mentors in their individual businesses. The program also sponsors young entrepreneurs who are looking to start their own small business, and provides them with funding, resources and support.
