Youth is the most dynamic and incisive phase of life, during which they explore, experiment, and play. Youth want to be involved in everything possible; they want to be a part of every program that exists. They also want to be heard, respected, and seen as an integral part of the society.

To understand where youth is coming from and how it’s being shaped by a host of factors, you need to visit Diepsloot Youth Project. This organization has been working tirelessly for the past 14 years to raise awareness and change perception about youth through meaningful programs. From mentoring programs and sports academies that aim at taking disadvantaged youth onto new heights, to skill acquisition workshops that teach them entrepreneurship-skills while building confidence, their work is inspiring everyone who visits them!

Everyone has that friend who knows just how to get the job done. And now, with Jet Diepsloot, you can be that friend! With her expert knowledge and skills, nothing is impossible for her. All you have to do is ask her to do something and she’ll get it done – no matter how big or small the task is.

She’s always ready for a challenge and never settles for anything less than perfection. She knows what’s the right thing to do and doesn’t let others tell her otherwise. She never goes behind people’s back and always respects their privacy and confidentiality – that’s why she’s your perfect match!

The youth are the future of our country, and it is important that we have initiatives to keep them engaged in the national output. Youth Project Jet is one such initiative that combats absenteeism among school-going children by bringing them closer to national amenities.

For the last few months, Diepsloot Youth Project has been regularly arranging excursions for children in schools. We started with simple rides on the metro and an outing to a zoo nearby, but as time progressed, our list of destinations has also grown! We decided to take this opportunity and organize a trip to Diepsloot, one of South Africa’s largest townships. The youth were excited about learning more about life in ‘the hood’ and they were keen on understanding how they could contribute their share through volunteering or donating a portion of their earnings.

Diepsloot Youth Project: An initiative by locals for locals!

If you have one thing in mind while walking on the streets of Diepsloot, it should be Jet.

Jet is a 24-hour youth service project of Diepsloot Youth Project. Since its inception in 2013, the team has been working on different initiatives to develop and nurture the potential of young people living in the area. They run various workshops and programs, including emotional literacy classes and life coaching sessions. It’s their way of making sure that every teen has someone they can turn to when they need someone or something else.
