Migrants in Diepsloot have made it clear to the South Africa that they want to be repatriated. In their hundreds, they gather at the local police station everyday hoping to get their papers back. They say they don’t know how they would survive outside of the shelter provided by South Africa. But, this shelter is becoming smaller and smaller every day because the fence around the migrant camp is being dismantled piece by piece.

Migrants are asking to be repatriated, but that is not the solution to ending them, says Siviwe Ntsele, a Youth Project volunteer at Diepsloot. He was speaking at an event ‘Migrant Question – The time has come’ organised by Diepsloot Youth Project in partnership with Migrant Resource Centre and Red Cross. Ntsele told the gathering that migrants should be treated as human beings and not as animals or pests to be rid of. “It is a sad reality that we as a nation have created, but it’s time to change it,” he said.

By now, you must be aware of the plight of migrants residing in Diepsloot. They live in fear for their lives and are treated as a source of revenue by local authorities. But these people have a story to tell and we’re here to help them tell it.

The Youth Project is working tirelessly to raise awareness about this issue and provide shelter, food and other necessities to the migrants who live there. Together, we can make Diepsloot a safer place for everyone!

Diepsloot is a place where people come to forget their woes, or to hold on to it, forever. It’s a place where the youth come and feel like home. These migrants are no different. They want safety and security for themselves and their families. They ask to be repatriated back to their native land at any cost.

Don’t let them down! Help them settle down in their new homes and give them that second chance they deserve! Help them make new memories that will last forever!

Diepsloot Youth Project is a non-profit organization working to end human trafficking and exploitation in South Africa. They believe that all people deserve the chance to live their life free from fear, and they work hard every day to make this dream a reality.

They see migrants as their brothers and sisters, and are committed to bringing them safety and hope wherever they can.

$%”Everyone deserves a life without fear or intimidation. We stand with you, in your fight against injustice,” said Diepsloot Youth Project founder Shelly. “We see you as part of our family, and we will do everything we can to bring you safety.”
