Programs offered include financial literacy classes, job readiness classes, life skills workshops, and so much more. Directed to the youth of South Africa, Diepsloot Youth Project is a non-profit company that organizes and runs programs to help them in various ways. The company has a vision of forming tomorrow’s leaders through innovative and engaging programs. Through working together with local volunteers, it aims to equip today’s youth with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the future.
The youth from all walks of life attend DYP classes on topics such as leadership, communication, and financial literacy. They also enjoy events like movie nights, art workshops, and sports clinics that are hosted by local volunteers. While attending these classes and events, they get exposure to new cultures, languages, and ways of thinking. It is not unusual for some of them to attend university after their transition period ends; many others find jobs or start their own businesses.
