One of the biggest challenges that school dropouts face is finding a job after getting out of school. But, with Diepsloot Youth Project’s help, they can do just that. The project runs a program where unemployed or underemployed teenagers get back on their feet through training and counseling sessions. They are then paired up with employers so they can learn the skills needed to succeed in their new careers.

When you think of a typical school dropout, chances are they’re probably living at home and racking up credit card debt. But not Diepsloot Youth Project! The one-of-a-kind program aims to reduce the number of school dropouts by providing them with the tools they need to achieve success in life. Whether it’s through academic support or vocational training, DYP is committed to equipping its students with the skills they need to succeed in whatever field they choose. And this commitment has paid off – over the past decade, DYP has helped hundreds of students transition from high school into adulthood with confidence and clarity about their future goals.
When a child dropsout of school, her future is uncertain. We want to change this, and that’s where Diepsloot Youth Project comes in. Our project works with disadvantaged children in the area to help them catch up on their studies. We offer counseling sessions and tutoring services, as well as sports activities that keep them active and integrated into society.
In South Africa, more than three million children drop out of school due to financial difficulties. This is a staggering figure that poses a serious risk to the country’s economic development and future prosperity. By giving these kids a helping hand, Diepsloot Youth Project aims to reduce the number of school dropouts in its township by 50% over the next five years. With an aim to create self-reliant citizens who are well-equipped with basic skills, it hopes that these kids will be able to contribute to their country’s economy as they grow up.
