Diepsloot Youth Project is a community-based project where volunteers teach children about littering. After their initial enrollment, volunteers visit the school regularly to continue imparting the same knowledge and values to these impressionable minds. The project also works with local authorities and government agencies to ensure that it reaches out to every child in the area. This way, they are able to take on global challenges like reducing poverty and creating sustainable communities.

Being a part of the Youth Project of D’Ili, it was our duty to take up littering in the area. We started collecting dead animals, empty cans and plastic bags on a daily basis. Soon, we had accumulated over 30 bags worth of trash. Our next step was to start cleaning up the area around our project and make it look presentable. This is when we decided to partner with Diepsloot Youth Project so that they can teach us about waste management, recycling, etc.

We have been attending various classes under the guidance of Diepsloot Youth Project since then. We are learning how to take our garbage back home and making reusable bags out of it. We also know how important it is to keep surroundings clean so that people don’t face any health issues due to littering.

When the world looks down and sees you littering, what do you have to say? We believe in the importance of turning a negative situation into a positive one. That’s why we’ve launched Diepsloot Youth Project.

DYPRO aims at creating awareness and bringing about systemic change in the area of environmental sustainability and littering through education, advocacy and community engagement. The project was launched with an aim to change perceptions about littering by educating people about its impact on the environment, animals and humans alike. And guess what? They’re already making a difference!

Children are our future, and it is important for them to be educated about the importance of sustainability in order to keep our planet clean and green.

Diepsloot Youth Project South Africa has come up with a brilliant idea that will teach children about environmental issues and give them a sneak peek of what it takes to be an eco-friendly citizen. Kids from all around Diepsloot will be taking part in this fun and interactive program on littering awareness and recycling. They will learn how to effectively separate waste and turn it into building materials. There will also be competitions like the Miss Recycling & Miss Sustainability beauty pageant, where kids can participate and learn more about these topics.

Who needs school when you have a place to call home? That’s the philosophy at Diepsloot Youth Project, a non-profit organization that aims to provide shelter and education for disadvantaged youth.

DYP is a one-stop solution for young people in need of education, employment, and a safe place to call home. In addition to providing housing and meals, DYP also offers educational classes such as English literacy, financial management, and life skills. With trained tutors and counselors on hand, the youth are confident they can achieve their goals while enjoying their new home.

By turning litter into bricks at DYP, we’re helping to turnDiepsloot into a city that works for everyone!
