A community that’s consistently ranked among the most violent in the country, Diepsloot needs all the help it can get.

And that’s where DYP comes in. For over 20 years, this youth empowerment program has been providing young people with the skills and resources they need to become self-sufficient individuals living in a violence-stricken community.

But more than just imparting knowledge, DYP offers its participants a safe space where they can develop their own ideas and strategies for navigating life safely – without relying on outside forces to do so. This is why Diepsloot Youth Project is so vital in breaking down harmful stereotypes and changing lives for the better.

When your neighborhood is getting snatched away by development, what do you do? You fight back. And that’s just what the residents of Diepsloot are doing with the Youth Project Spar Diepsloot initiative. For the last two years, they have been organizing peaceful protests outside the homes of local developers, who are fast expanding their property portfolios in the area. Their goal is to save their beloved community from being swallowed up by new developments.

DYP is making sure that Diepsloot’s rich history and diverse culture aren’t lost forever. Join them in their efforts to stop the destruction and preserve this special place for future generations!

Hey! How’s it going? We’re Diepsloot Youth Project and we know how important it is to build an extra source of income. That’s why we’re organizing weekly spar at Diepsloot.

On Saturday mornings, you’ll find us at the Spar Diepsloot in the company of like-minded folks who want to make a difference in the lives of others. We’ve got everything covered – from sewing classes to financial literacy classes – there’s something for everybody! All you have to do is sign up and let the fun begin!

Youth are the new leaders of tomorrow. It is their responsibility to empower themselves and help others in need. It is the Youth Project’s motto to help them become self-reliant and take an active role in shaping the future.

Diepsloot Youth Project has been conducting mass awareness programs, skill development workshops and social service projects for underprivileged children since 2003. Our volunteers make sure that every child gets a chance to learn and grow at his/her own pace. We also run special camps for differently abled children so that they can be as independent as possible.

With a heart of service, we strive to make a difference by empowering our children with knowledge so that they can thrive in today’s fast-paced world.

It’s easy to enrol in a youth project when you know what you’re getting into. You could say that DYP is an institution, but that’s an understatement; it’s a place everyone has been and will be happy to go back to. It’s the kind of place where you feel safe and accepted, where you can learn and grow without limits.
