Diepsloot Youth Project offers a sustainable means of making a living to the people living there. The project aims at creating employment and business opportunities for those residing in the area through running a wide range of businesses.

The program is run by volunteers who want to see change in their neighbourhood and want to contribute towards sustainability through initiatives like this youth project. This will go a long way in changing the lives of those living there.

DYSP is a youth initiative working to end poverty and inequality in Diepsloot. With the goal of empowering youth, DYSPS strives to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities so youth can have control over their lives and destiny.

DYSP aims to empower young people by providing them with education, skills, and entrepreneurial development opportunities. By doing so, they are able to realize their full potential, thereby reducing poverty and inequality while creating a more just society.

We have a saying in South Africa that all roads lead to Diepsloot, and it’s true. The youth of this township are finally realising its potential and are stepping forward to take control of their lives by starting businesses, registering themselves with the government, taking up courses, and much more.

We decided to partner with Diepsloot Youth Project to spread awareness about sustainable livelihood among the youth there. We have been running a few programmes (like boot camps and entrepreneurship sessions) which aim at developing youths’ leadership skills and empowering them with relevant information which will help them take the right decisions for their future. We believe that partnerships such as these will change the fortunes of an entire community for good!

Often, we hear about young unemployed people facing difficulties in finding a decent job. In fact, unemployed youth in the urban areas are at a greater risk of being excluded from the labour market. That is why Diepsloot Youth Project is making a difference by providing sustainable livelihoods for these young adults. The programme offers short-term and long-term training courses to help them develop new skills and find employment.

The project has already trained more than 1 500 young adults in various fields, including carpentry, marketing, hospitality and more. This gives them the confidence they need to pursue their dreams and start their own businesses one day.
