I am a proud Diepsloot resident. I went to school here, completed my studies, and started working. I think that shows the growth of the city. When I was growing up, this area was nothing special. How times have changed! Now, there are posh cafés and restaurants all along Diepsloot road. The youth has also changed drastically – from street children to college dropouts to professional professionals. With the youth project, we aim to change the lives of these differently-abled youth for the better.

We run camps and workshops that aim to improve their skills in academics and extra-curricular activities – so they can pursue their dreams with confidence!

The Diepsloot Youth Project is a tax exempt organisation that aims to provide youth services that empower young people to become leaders in their communities. We offer a spectrum of programs that are designed to help you reach your goals and build the skills needed to thrive. Whether you’re interested in volunteering, getting involved with education, or just want to hang out and have a blast, we’ve got you covered!

Our programs are diverse and offer something for everyone. From smart classes on finance, digital literacy, and more, to fun activities like cooking workshops, youth clubs, and sports clinics – there’s something for everyone at DYP. We’re proud of our commitment to diversity and believe that by providing services that target young people from all walks of life we can make a difference in the community.

For Sheldon Mokwena, the answer is Diepsloot Youth Project. It’s a project that aims to change the lives of young people in South Africa in an unassuming way. They call it hope because they aim to instill the hope of tomorrow by changing today. The organization provides education and employment programs for young people, giving them skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in life. In Sheldon’s own words, DYP is helping us to become our best selves and also creating more leaders from within our country!

The youth in our community are the future leaders, who will make a difference to their surroundings. It’s important that they get ample opportunities to explore different fields and make informed decisions. That’s why we’re proud to run Diepsloot Youth Project, a tax exempt organization that provides a safe space for youth to grow and develop.

Through enrichment programs, sports activities, and youth mentorship programs, we provide them with a holistic approach to their development. We believe that by giving them access to resources, they will be able to take control of their lives and realize their full potential.

When you live in extreme poverty, crime is an inevitable part of life. And when ‘crime’ means stealing some food from a truck or trying to sell a few pieces of bread on the street, no wonder that people don’t think twice before committing such acts. The Youth Project aims to bring light to these issues and change the mindset of those who are affected by crime. Together with them, we can end crime in Diepsloot!
