Kobus is one of those people who has a heart for helping others and giving his best. He has been associated with Diepsloot Youth Project for years now and has been serving as its Board Secretary. With his vast experience in running organizations, he has helped grow DYP into a reputed youth development project that works hand-in-hand with schools, government offices, and more for improving the quality of life for children in South Africa.

Diepsloot Youth Project was established in 2007 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to make a difference. They believed that by involving children in positive activities, they would be able to improve their understanding about the world and society. The project takes place at Kobus Kleyn’s residence every Friday from 6pm – 9pm. Children get a chance to participate in different activities like arts & crafts, cooking, dancing, etc. Also, there is a team leader for each activity who helps guide the kids through it.

While heeding their words from the beginning, Kobus has also become an example of what youth should be: responsible but also fun-loving. Also, he quickly became an integral part of the team and earned his role with pride!

Youth project Diepsloot has always been run by volunteers, and right now we’re grateful to have Kobus Kleyn on board. Being a Board Secretary helps him understand the challenges youth face in South Africa, and he’s committed to helping us achieve our goals.

Kobus spreads awareness about the project, and he’s even started mentoring some of our young members. We couldn’t ask for more from him! He’s a true inspiration for us all.
