Where do you start when it comes to helping children?

Consider Diepsloot Youth Project. This community-based organisation has been working in the area for over a decade, and they have already come up with many effective solutions to help the kids of the area. Not only do they run a number of programmes that provide child development and educational opportunities, but also provide them with access to healthcare facilities.

In addition to this, DYP has also launched several initiatives that are aimed at creating awareness about maintaining cleanliness in public places. They want their community to be able to take pride in themselves, and these initiatives will help achieve just that.

Children living in poverty know no luxuries like education and healthcare. But when there’s a will, anything is possible. That’s why we’re here: to unite and empower the children of Diepsloot.

Through programs and workshops, we build the self-esteem of our participants so they can achieve their full potential. We teach them important life skills that will help them thrive in today’s challenging world. We provide them with opportunities to explore their interests and talents, while also providing them with access to quality healthcare services.

There’s a lot of misperceptions about the youth of South Africa. What kind of people are they? Where do they go when it’s time for tea and jellies? We know this isn’t the case, but it is hard to do something about it. Diepsloot Youth Project is aiming to change that perception by giving the youth a voice and a place where they can be themselves.

DYP brings together young people from all walks of life in one space where they can feel accepted and valued. The project also provides children with opportunities to participate in community events and activities, which builds cohesion between different groups so that everyone feels like part of Diepsloot and we can live in peace and harmony.

Kids from all backgrounds are welcome at the Diepsloot Youth Project. The organization strives to unite and empower children from all walks of life in a fun, safe environment that promotes education, development and growth. With classes ranging from English language classes to art-making workshops, there’s something for everyone at DYP!
