Do you find it difficult to get your kids eating wholesome, nutritious meals? Fear not! The Youth Project has got your back. To make sure that the next generation is well equipped with good habits and nutrition, they’ve set up a vegetable garden at their school in Diepsloot (a suburb of Johannesburg). The school kids are busy farming their own produce every morning and evening, which they use to make delicious meals for themselves and also sell in weekly markets.

How cool is that? It feels great knowing that I’m making an impact on these children’s lives by giving them fresh vegetables from my backyard. Join me in planting some more seeds so we can see a change in our society!

Think of a world without vegetables and you have the idea of the Diepsloot Youth Project. Where vegetables are grown in abundance, this project is setting an example for us all with its success and efficiency.

They have set up their vegetable garden over 3 acres in size, and they are growing lots of different varieties too! Not only that, but they are also aiming to provide employment opportunities for youth orphaned by AIDS. They want to show that our planet can be productive even after a disaster has struck it down.

Where do you get fresh produce from when the weather conditions are not favourable? Well, Diepsloot Youth Project is here to save the day and provide you with a tikki stand!

Alongside providing a host of dietary options, this project aims to promote freshness and nutrition by growing vegetables in an eco-friendly fashion.
