Diepsloot Youth Project is a nonprofit organization that works with marginalized youth in South Africa to give them the chance to have their say, and make their own decisions. In addition to offering them a stable home, we also provide them with education, healthcare, and jobs.

We believe every person has the right to be heard, and we’re dedicated to helping marginalized youth participate in society. By supporting us, you’re giving these young people a chance to really make a difference in the world around them.

A name that strikes fear in people’s hearts, the Diepsloot area is aptly called as ‘the most unsafe part’ of Johannesburg. It is so named because it is home to abandoned cars, dilapidated buildings, and disreputable characters.

But this has now changed with the Diepslote Youth Project! This project has transformed an area which was once feared by citizens and tourists alike into a safe haven where kids feel comfortable walking alone at night and where crime can be seen declining day by day.

Diepsloot is a unique and holistic approach to helping children and teenagers grow up in the most enriching way possible. Youth Project is focused on holistic development that includes character-building, vocational training, and entrepreneurship skills. The project also aims to build a bridge between the children and their families by connecting them through various social organizations and initiatives. These kids are our future leaders; we must always celebrate their efforts and acknowledge what they accomplish every day.

Diepsloot Youth Project is a unique initiative that provides temporary shelter, food, and education to homeless youth in the area. The project was started by a group of volunteers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of these youth. The project runs on donations and volunteers, and is funded entirely by donations. They have been running this project continuously since 2011, and have grown exponentially every year!

DYP stands for Diepsloot Youth Project because they believe that every child deserves a safe place to call home. They are committed to providing these children with everything they need to be successful – emotionally and physically – while they’re living at DYP. They provide meals everyday, as well as educational classes that help the kids gain skills such as reading, writing, math, and more.
