At Diepsloot, youth is never a thing of the past. The Diepsloot Youth Project has been involved in developing and guiding the next generation of leaders for over 30 years now. With programmes covering a wide array of interests and skills, there’s something for everyone. DYP offers enrichment classes, mentorship programmes, leadership trainings, job opportunities, and much more.

Young people today are more exposed to fast-paced lifestyles and constant distractions than ever before. With tablets, smartphones, and social media constantly vying for their attention, it’s becoming harder for them to dedicate time to activities that truly inspire them. Diepsloot Youth Project is changing that by providing young people in Diepsloot with an opportunity to participate in a creative program that will give them new perspectives on life.
DYP is a project run by youth volunteers from all walks of life – from different age groups and backgrounds – aiming to inspire the next generation of leaders through art and creativity. The program provides participants with the tools they need to become confident creators while fostering a sense of community within the youth center.
