There are days when even the brightest idea seems futile and not worth chasing, but that’s not the case with Diepsloot Youth Project. When we say it’s because they’re ‘Diepsloot’, you know it’s got to be something special.

DYP is an initiative that aims to provide holistic development services to underprivileged children in the area. All these services are comprehensive and offer a holistic approach towards child development, which makes DYP stand apart from other organizations.

The team at DYP understands that children need more than just academic excellence; they need skills of every kind, and they need them now! With classes in creative arts, music, sports and cooking, our volunteers try their best to make sure the kids feel appreciated and enjoy what they’re learning.

When you say ‘Diepsloot’, what comes to your mind? Is it the saying that all roads lead to Diepsloot or is it the youth project which has been working for 25 years in various parts of the basin? Yes, and these two phrase are inseparable. The youth project is spreading awareness about health, nutrition, and livelihoods among the youth in the basin. At the same time, they are promoting community service and volunteerism.

DYP is a shining example of social entrepreneurship at its best. In short, DYP makes Diepsloot proud!

Do you remember those sleepless nights when your brain wouldn’t switch off or you were just restless? Well, that’s how the Diepsloot Youth Project felt after searching for a solution. This new youth program in Diepsloot is providing kids with sleep solutions, so that they can finally get some rest.

This sleep centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure maximum effectiveness and comfort. With a team of dedicated professionals, the sleep centre provides individualized sleep therapy and behavioral treatments to help children overcome various disorders and issues related to sleep. The staff is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, so feel free to drop by anytime and ask any questions.

Diepsloot is a township that lies in the heart of Johannesburg, South Africa. Despite its location, this township does not have the privilege of enjoying basic facilities like healthcare and education. Youth project Diepsloot aims to change this. The youth in Diepsloot have united to make a difference by setting up their own healthcare and education centres. As a part of this initiative, they are also running a food kitchen where meals are served for free.

With every step you take towards making Diepsloot better, you are going to contribute your share towards improving it!

Diepsloot Youth Project is all about empowering the youth of our township through various programs. We celebrate different events with them, teach them important life skills, and most importantly, we give them a voice. In 2017 alone, we have held five different events where we have been able to connect with and empower thousands of youth in our community. This year, we aim to do even more! Let’s work together to create a better tomorrow for all youth in Diepsloot!
