Who doesn’t love eggs? That’s right, we all do! And now you can enjoy them at home with the help of Diepsloot Youth Projects Guineafowl. This egg-laying feathered friend is very friendly and follows commands like sit, listen and walk, making it a perfect companion for kids.
The guinea fowl is also happy to be petted or played with by adults and children alike. So grab a friend, get some fresh eggs from the chicken coop and enjoy a guinea fowl breakfast in the morning!

Those who have been a part of Diepsloot for some time now, will agree that it is no longer only the children’s game. Nowadays, adults are equally as excited about the Guineafowls of Diepsloot Youth Projects (DYP). With more than 10 years of being active in the area, DYP has earned its place as a household name.
The DYP Guineafowl program is one-of-a-kind program which gives children and youth an opportunity to be involved in civic activities while having fun. The program facilitates informal sports and fitness training combined with animal handling skills. Children learn how to feed and care for these birds while they compete on the field against other teams in a weekend-long event held every year. This event is attended by hundreds of people from around diepsloot and beyond!
If you’re looking for a fun way to brighten your child’s day and teach them about nature, then look no further. Diepsloot Youth Projects is hosting an exciting Guineafowl event in Eindhoven this weekend and we can’t wait to join in! The event runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday the 5th of May, and will be held at the Komkommerdag festival grounds. Kids of all ages are invited to attend the interactive event where they will learn about Guinea fowl by watching intently as these birds run free and play together.
The best part? Children get a chance to hold these majestic creatures! Once they’ve had enough feathers stuck in their faces, kids get the chance to release them into their wild habitat with one of our volunteers. We think that this is an amazing opportunity for children to learn more about nature and animal welfare while having fun!
