Growing up in a community where you don’t feel at home can be very challenging. This is especially so when the youth of your town aren’t out there actively trying to change that. To help you take up the challenge, Diepsloot Youth Projects has decided to step in and offer capacity building for its young residents.

Starting with some basic knowledge about the society and local issues, DYP aims to empower the youth by making them aware of what is happening around them and also know how they can play a role in shaping their future. Through public speaking classes, community development processes and other various activities that are designed to give kids a feeling of belongingness, DYP wants our youth to graduate from being just bystanders into being leaders who shape the world around them.

Diepsloot Youth Projects is an NGO that provides training to youth in a variety of fields. They have a great capacity building program for youth to learn additional skill sets and techniques that will be beneficial in their career path.

They also offer internship opportunities where you can get hands-on experience in various departments across the organization. With over 25 years of experience, DYP has proven its sustainability and ability to grow.

Building a non-profit capacity isn’t easy. It takes time, patience, and above all, commitment. But it can be done! We are excited to announce our first cohort of volunteers who will guide us as we build our nonprofit’s capacity over the next year. The interns will train alongside the staff on a variety of skills including accounting, marketing, human resources, and much more. They’ll also have an opportunity to learn from experienced leaders as they work towards establishing Diepsloot Youth Projects as an efficient and effective organization. We’re excited to have you on board – let’s make a difference!

Being a nonprofit starts with capacity building, but if you want it to stand the test of time and become sustainable, you need to have enough knowledge about it. And that’s where Diepsloot Youth Projects comes in.

Over the past several months, we’ve had the pleasure of working with some stunningly talented young leaders from Diepsloot who are taking this new endeavor by storm. From social media management and marketing to volunteer management and event planning, these emerging nonprofits are thriving thanks to their passionate team members who know exactly what they’re getting themselves into.

We can’t wait to see how these young leaders grow and flourish as they continue developing their skills over the coming years!
