The youth unemployment rate in Gauteng is a cause for concern. With nearly 40% of young people out of work, it’s clear that something needs to be done. But what exactly? Youth Project in Diepsloot is taking action today by investing in local talent and helping them find work. We believe that by giving these young people the skills they need to succeed, we can change their futures for the better.

Gauteng is the home to some of the fastest-growing economies in Africa. The province also boasts of being a big hub for startups and computer software companies, yet it has some of the highest youth unemployment rates and under-privileged jobless youths. Diepsloot Youth Project was founded in response to this alarming reality.

DYP is passionate about creating meaningful employment opportunities for South Africa’s youth. We believe that every young person deserves an opportunity to discover her or his full potential, regardless of background or experience.

With our holistic approach, we strive to equip youth with all they need in order to thrive while also building their confidence and leadership skills through workshops and mentorship programs. Our goal is not only to help young people find work but also make a positive difference in their lives by helping them build careers they love!

We know that youth unemployment is a serious issue in Gauteng, and it’s time we started taking measures to address it. Youth Project Diepsloot is one initiative that is doing exactly that.

Launched by the Diepsloot Youth Development Trust (DYDT), this project aims to improve lives and livelihoods for the youth in their area by supporting them with opportunities for sustainable employment. The DYDT has been running on a shoe-string budget, but through hard work and dedication they have achieved great success! They have established an ‘at-home’ training program where unemployed youth are provided with job training and mentoring so they can acquire new skills. In addition, they run weekly workshops where youth learn different aspects of business such as marketing, finance, accounting, etc. All of their events are free to attend so you know these kids really want this project to succeed!

If you’re looking for a way to make an impact on the lives of young people in your community or around the world then check out Youth Project Diepsloot today!

The youth unemployment rate in Gauteng is currently at 12.4%, which is almost double the national average of 6.9%. With such a high number of young people not getting employed, it’s clear that something needs to be done in order for this issue to be solved. Diepsloot Youth Project is one organisation that has decided to take action, and they’ve launched an initiative called ‘Unemployable’.

Through this initiative, they aim to help young South Africans who are looking for jobs find the right opportunities. They have partnered with organisations and businesses across the province, so that they can understand their requirements and offer them with suitable positions. In addition, they also work on developing skills in areas like communication or soft skills so that these individuals will be able to learn new things when they get employed by other companies.

We hope that this initiative will help reduce youth unemployment rates in Gauteng significantly!

Youth unemployment is a major concern in Gauteng, a province already struggling with more than its fair share of inequality. It’s time we asked whether any measures need to be taken.

Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) is taking a stand for youth dignity and self-worth through job creation and entrepreneurship programmes. DYP believes that every one has the right to build their future the way they want it to be. They are also committed to creating an environment where youth can flourish and grow without being held back by disadvantage or challenge.
