In schools across South Africa, students are expected to attend classes in a well-maintained shoe. Shoes are a must for any child since it protects their feet from getting injured during the class time. Many school shoes donated by brands or organizations come with various fancy designs and colours that attract children. These school shoes can help them grow strong and confident as they walk through life with their head held high. But when we hear about children who don’t have the same luxury of attending schools with such shoes (especially when they don’t even have proper footwear), we get inspired to do something about it. That’s why Diepsloot Youth Project is so special! They work towards providing disadvantaged children living in Diepsloot area with educational footwear so that they can continue their studies unhindered. When you see something that is not only beautiful, but useful too, where can you get it? That’s right! Diepsloot Youth Project. With an aim to give a hand to underprivileged youth in the area, they have been providing shoes to all 19 boys and girls studying at Diepsloot Secondary School.

Diepsloot Youth Project has come a long way since its inception in 2008. They have found a lot of supporters who love them for their cause and want more schools to donate school shoes for their students. We hope that one day soon, many more schools will follow suit so that this project can help give some joy and happiness to kids facing difficulties or deserve something good in life.
