The Youth Project is an initiative to connect youth with entrepreneurial skills, provide them space for growth, and develop their leadership abilities. The project is supported by Diepsloot’s Business Development Team, who are investing in the future of young South Africans by investing in them.

For some, the only way to grow their business is by partnering with a large corporation. But, there’s a lot more to it than that! Diepsloot Youth Project is a collaboration of the Diepsloot Municipality and Mampshwane Municipality with the aim of creating sustainable employment for youth in disadvantaged areas. The project has been successful so far, and in 2018, investments have been made to ensure that the team receives the training it needs to be able to grow and become an attractive employer. At present, there are 9 youth on the team working towards a long-term goal of making Diepsloot Youth Project a success story in South Africa.

Formation is just one part of what makes DYP such an attraction for many people looking for jobs in a tough economy where businesses are closing up shop left and right. But above all else, DYP provides job opportunities not only to youth but also women who may be looking for careers they can thrive on while raising their families. This project is changing lives by giving youths hope that they can make their life better through hard work.
