Youth are our future, and we cannot afford to lose them. Yet, every year, more than 200 000 youth drop out of school in South Africa. They feel that education does not hold any value for them and their dreams are shattered as they turn into wards of the state.

Diepsloot Youth Project is working to change this negative perception about education and create a new generation of leaders who have something to give back to society. We offer opportunities for young people so that they can develop their skills and live life on their own terms.

You may have heard that kids in South Africa are the future of our country. That’s true, but with Diepsloot Youth Project, we’re also unleashing their potential by helping them find their path and pursue it.

We provide a platform where children can learn and grow without restrictions or limitations. Put simply, they can be themselves at DYP. We believe in giving youth an opportunity to make a change for the better by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.

Why is mentoring important? It can be a great opportunity for youth to interact with older adults and ask them questions about life.

Diepsloot Youth Project provides one-on-one mentoring opportunities for South African youth, aged 18 – 25. Each year, the project recruits over 300 mentors who guide young people through tough times in life. Through workshops, group discussions and activities, our mentors are able to help youth become more confident and prepared for the future.

We believe that by encouraging young people to reach their full potential we can change society for the better!

Youth programs are always loved by people and parents alike! Youth has a special ability to understand the mind of a child, which is why we have crafted various programs for them. With Diepsloot Youth Project, you can feel assured your child is getting the best possible care and attention.

DYP provides mentoring opportunities for youth so that they can learn and grow while being guided by older people who have more experience and know-how. This is a great way for youth to gain valuable life skills like responsibility, self discipline, communication etc. DYP also prepares its participants for future adult jobs or school placements. All this with an aim to give back to the community in positive ways!

Who hasn’t wanted to feel like they belong somewhere? For many, that feeling comes from their youth, and Diepsloot Youth Project is striving hard to help them realize this. The project focuses on mentoring young people so that they can understand the importance of being a part of the society.

Diepsloot Youth Project has involved itself in several initiatives throughout the years to help create awareness among children. In 2017, it was actively involved in ‘Give Me 5’ movement where children were encouraged to give out 5 rupees for every rupee earned by anyone who is doing something good for society.

There are countless ways you can contribute in making Diepsloot a better place and we are excited about all of these efforts! We encourage everyone to join us and participate by donating their money or volunteering time towards our cause!
