Youth are future leaders and de-addiction is their way of taking a stand against drugs. The Youth Project, launched by Diepsloot Urban Development Agency, is aimed at helping these young people understand the harmful effects of drug addiction and become aware of the ways to get rid of it.

In addition to teaching them about the dangers of substance abuse and showing them that they can do something about it, the project also takes them on a tour where they meet recovering addicts and hear their stories. The youth team volunteers have been interacting with the participants regularly since its inception, making this project one worth celebrating!

Every child deserves a world of possibilities, and that’s why we at Diepsloot Youth Project believe in providing every child with an inclusive environment. We offer kids programs that promote diversity and inclusivity, while also developing their individual potential.

Our programs cater to all age groups and abilities, so you can be sure your kid will be getting the best possible care and attention. Whether they’re interested in art, music, or sports – we’ve got a program for them. In addition to our regular classes, we run special programs like Saturday class for kids with special needs or who are just beginning to learn. And because we believe that everyone is unique and has their own strengths and talents, we have a team of expert teachers on hand who tailor each class according to the needs of the participants. So if you’re looking for a youth project that truly cares about its clients, then Diepsloot Youth Project is your answer!

With a population exceeding 40,000, the Diepsloot region appears like any other East African township. The landscape is dotted with tin shacks and run-down shops selling clothes, food, and other daily necessities. But walk out of the city center and you’ll see something different. A sea of green makes up most of the fields in Diepsloot, where youth hang around playing games or just chilling.

The Diepsloot Youth Project turns this empty space into a haven for kids that they call home away from home. They provide them with food, clothes, and shelter in exchange for helping out around the neighborhood.

But what makes their project stand apart is its focus on teaching kids about development and giving them skills that will help them become future leaders in society. Through weekly workshops and activities like drama classes, they teach kids life skills like decision-making, communication skills, and financial literacy so they can take on any challenge thrown at them as adults.

When it comes to education, many believe that it’s a mere formal process of memorizing and regurgitating. In fact, there’s a lot more to it than that. Education is a way of life.

A way of keeping your mind active and apt for learning, even after the day has ended. A way of thinking beyond the scope of one’s boundaries, exploring new horizons and growth-oriented techniques. Education is an investment in tomorrow which can be seen with every chapter you’ve read or watched online till now.

Diepsloot Youth Project – a name that captures the essence of this initiative and its unending commitment towards empowering children.

Initiated by Diepsloot residents themselves, this project aims to provide young people with the tools they need to be successful in today’s fast-paced society. Through classes, workshops and other activities, DYP provides the youth with the skills and expertise that will help them become successful adults.

Planned and run by volunteers who have a heart for service and children, DYP is making a positive difference in the lives of our youth. We thank you all for your support!
